Baymare Farm offers traditional balanced seat (English) riding lessons for children and adults. New riders will be first assessed individually and then placed in an appropriate slot.  Riders must have an independent seat and be able to post the trot, stop, start, and steer before they are permitted to ride in a group, therefore most will require several private lessons at the outset. Age eligibility is determined on an individual basis, but in general children do not derive much benefit from regular riding lessons until at least the age of 6.  Younger children may have a little “pony time” and a session on the leadline by appointment until old enough for more structured teaching.

All riders are expected to participate in the grooming and tacking up of their lesson horse.
